Westphalian Cornet Obolensky Youngster-Auction

Excellent sales quota of 100 percent

Münster: For the second time, the Westfälisches Pferdestammbuch held an online auction in cooperation with the Zhashkiv Stud in the Ukraine. The auction lot included 32 youngsters, all of them carrying the star sire Cornet Obolensky in their pedigree. At an average price of 13,766 Euros, all horses offered found new owners. The interest from abroad was particularly high. 24 horses were sold to twelve different countries outside of Germany.

After the successful first edition last year, the Westfälisches Pferdestammbuch organised the second online auction in cooperation with the Zhashkiv Stud in the Ukraine. 32 youngsters bred at this stud were up for sale. They are all closely related to the star sire Cornet Obolensky, who is also based in the Ukraine. The 20 stallions and 12 mares aroused great interest among international customers. With a total turnover of 440,500 Euros, all two and a half year olds on offer were successfully sold. On average, customers invested 13,766 Euros in their future hopes for the show jumping course. About one third of the horses offered received a knock-down price of more than 15,000 Euros. Especially customers outside of Germany showed great interest in the auction collection. Three quarters of the horses will be promoted in 12 different other countries in the future. The youngster collection was particularly well received by customers in eastern countries. Six youngsters will remain in the Ukraine, four will travel to Iran, three to Uzbekistan.

The Cornet Obolensky daughter Cathleen aroused the greatest desire this evening. Her dam, Verb.Pr.St. Diamond by Diarado, is the half-sister to Conthargos. 15 parties bid for the grey mare. At the 39th bid, the virtual hammer fell in favour of customers from Germany. They won the bid for 26,000 Euros. Among the 20 stallions, the head number one jumped to the top price. The licensed Abercrombie convinces with a promising bloodline. The son of Air Jordan/Cornet Obolensky descends from the Holstein line 1333, which has already produced several successful show jumpers. The grey stallion was sold for 24,000 Euros to customers from Russia.
